The art of dyeing fabrics using natural plants has long been part of Tokushima culture. Indigo dyeing is the traditional indigo dyeing process. The indigo dyeing process uses natural dyes to create indigo-colored clothing. These clothes are warm in winter and cool in summer, and are also antibacterial. We will visit the Indigo Museum, a historical museum where visitors can experience the indigo dyeing process to color fabrics. Museum staff can guide you through the steps in English. The experience takes about 20 minutes and no reservation is required. Visitors can choose the type of fabric and the dyeing method.
