This is one of the most beautiful places in Kobe let alone Japan. The sits on the Rokko Mountain. You can hike up or take the ropeway for gorgeous aerial views of Kobe City & the mountain areas. Up along the hike which starts right at the shin-kobe station, there is a almost Tarzan like bridge you can cross and you'll see 4 water falls which are known as the most inspirational falls in all of Japan. Photo & literature worthy picturesque falls you will not see anywhere else. There is also the Nunobiki dam which can be hiked to (with the proper gear but we were not prepared for that). And this is just if you want to hike because there are many trails in the area.
The Kitano Foreigner's Club in Kobe is a fascinating destination that offers a glimpse into the city's cosmopolitan history. This hall, designed to replicate the social clubs of the era when Kobe Port opened to the West, features a range of historical artifacts, including a carved wooden fireplace from the Bourbon dynasty and a luxurious bar counter. Visitors can also explore the garden, which houses a 19th-century horse-drawn carriage and offers the unique experience of dressing up in period costumes for photo opportunities.
Nankinmachi in Kobe is located in the southernmost part of Motomachi, close to the Daimaru Department Store. Because Kobe is an open and internationally influenced port distribution center, and Chinese businessmen were an important part of the area at the time, Nankinmachi was born. Since Kobe was opened to trade in 1868, the Nankincho area attracted many Chinese merchants to settle here. This area is a wonderful blend of Chinese and Japanese cultures. Nankin Town is 270 meters long from east to west and 110 meters wide from north to south. This small area is filled with a variety of unique food, shops and entertainment options.
The Kobe Earthquake Memorial, also known as the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Memorial, stands as a poignant reminder of the devastating earthquake that struck Kobe on January 17, 1995. The memorial park features exhibits and preserved sections of the damaged quay, offering visitors a place to reflect on the tragedy and learn about disaster prevention and recovery. The museum within the park provides educational resources and a documentary film, ensuring that the lessons from this disaster continue to resonate and contribute to future preparedness.
Kobe Beef is a prized Japanese delicacy and probably the most widely-known regional specialty food in Japan. Kobe Beef is distinguished as a tender, flavorful meat that is well marbled with fat. It is produced from pedigreed Tajima breed cattle which were born and slaughtered in Hyogo Prefecture.
Kobe, where Kobe beef is produced, is home to a number of popular restaurants where you can eat the highest grade of meat.

Tor Road Steak Aoyama is a small and friendly family run place on Tor Road. The beef is prepared and grilled in front of you by the owners’s son while his very kind mother is serving the rest of the menu. Tor Road Steak Aoyama is run by a small family. Like any good teppanyaki-style steakhouse, the dry humor is part of the experience as the chef entertains you while he cooks. The ingredients and chef skills are exceptional. Seasonal vegetables are grilled and then your steak gets cut into bite sized pieces that are easy to eat with chopsticks. You are given some perfectly fried garlic chips, and ponzu sauce to eat with your vegetables and steak. Ponzu is a light vinegar based sauce that cuts through the full favored fat in the steak, but also compliments the vegetables well. They have not changed their ponzu recipe used for the dipping sauce since they opened, because regular customers tell them never to change a thing.

The restaurant, founded in Showa 20 (1945), specializes in teppanyaki (hot plate), a cooking style offered for the first time in the world by this restaurant. Not only does the restaurant sell Kobe beef, but also Japanese Black beef (A4, A5) grilled on an iron plate by skilled chefs. Beautifully marbled beef is roasted on a polished, customized 2 cm thick plate; the roasted meat, even when served with baked natural salt of Ako alone, is soft as if to melt in your mouth. A very popular restaurant among tourists from abroad, it is a popular place for anniversaries, family gatherings, and client dinners. The melt-in-your-mouth sensation will make you feel like a king.
