Young Master Train
On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the Young Master Train will pass through Matsuyama city center, carrying passengers from Matsuyama City Station and Matsuyama Station to Dogo Onsen Station. The first young trains were run by burning coal, and the chimneys would emit thick smoke. The trains currently running are improved, using a more environmentally friendly diesel engine. Due to the special design, the train still retains the appearance and sound of a classic steam locomotive, but harmless steam can be emitted from the chimney. The train commander wore retro-style clothing, which made people seem to have really traveled to the past.
Big Street & Songshan Yintian Street
To enjoy shopping, you must visit the two popular shopping streets in Songshan: Dajie and Songshan Yintian Street. These two places are very close, both in the center of Songshan, and are covered by arcades, so you can buy and buy with confidence no matter what the weather is. These two shopping streets are packed with shops and are a good place to buy souvenirs. Why not pick up some unique souvenirs here to take home, such as handmade pottery, embroidery crafts, or desserts in the flavors of Iyokan and Mikan (two citrus fruits found throughout Ehime Prefecture).
