This pilgrimage weaves deep Catholic spirituality with Japan’s history, culture, and natural beauty, inviting pilgrims to walk in the footsteps of martyrs, honor Our Lady of Akita, and pray for peace in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, while also experiencing Japan’s castles, samurai heritage, and breathtaking landscapes. Traveling with a Franciscan of the Immaculate who follows the spirituality of St. Maximilian Kolbe, pilgrims trace the story of Christianity in Japan—from its beginnings with St. Francis Xavier, through centuries of persecution and martyrdom, to St. Maximilian Kolbe and his Militia Immaculatae, culminating in the Church-approved Marian apparition of Our Lady of Akita.
