There are certain standards and conditions that make Kobe beef different from other beef. Kobe beef is made from beef that was born and raised in Hyogo Prefecture, and the standards are said to be the strictest in Japan. The ranches fatten only animals with fine meat fibers and high-quality fat that produce beautiful marbling.
Aside from the softness, the sweetness of the fat will stick in your mouth long after you eat it. On the ranch, surrounded by lush nature, we take care of the barn hygiene, devise ways to ensure cows are comfortable, and create a fattening environment daily, such as feeding them natural food to continue to provide high-quality meat quality.
Kobe beef restaurants make the most of the potential of the meat and prepares it in a way that brings out its best flavor and tenderness.
Visitors are not allowed to visit beef ranches. A beef processing factory is open for visits with advanced reservations in Kyoto.

Tor Road Steak Aoyama is a small and friendly family run place on Tor Road. The beef is prepared and grilled in front of you by the owners’s son while his very kind mother is serving the rest of the menu. Tor Road Steak Aoyama is run by a small family. Like any good teppanyaki-style steakhouse, the dry humor is part of the experience as the chef entertains you while he cooks. The ingredients and chef skills are exceptional. Seasonal vegetables are grilled and then your steak gets cut into bite sized pieces that are easy to eat with chopsticks. You are given some perfectly fried garlic chips, and ponzu sauce to eat with your vegetables and steak. Ponzu is a light vinegar based sauce that cuts through the full favored fat in the steak, but also compliments the vegetables well. They have not changed their ponzu recipe used for the dipping sauce since they opened, because regular customers tell them never to change a thing.

The restaurant, founded in Showa 20 (1945), specializes in teppanyaki (hot plate), a cooking style offered for the first time in the world by this restaurant. Not only does the restaurant sell Kobe beef, but also Japanese Black beef (A4, A5) grilled on an iron plate by skilled chefs. Beautifully marbled beef is roasted on a polished, customized 2 cm thick plate; the roasted meat, even when served with baked natural salt of Ako alone, is soft as if to melt in your mouth. A very popular restaurant among tourists from abroad, it is a popular place for anniversaries, family gatherings, and client dinners. The melt-in-your-mouth sensation will make you feel like a king.
